But cats also have been with humans for a long time, and a lot of that instinct to hunt and be territorial is there, and that's after thousands of generations. Hard wired survival instinct will not diminish with fish after just a few generations.

Cats have most definitely calmed down,, wildcats wld bite the hell outta u if u touched them yet house cats tend to enjoy the scratch behind the ears

But that's not countering instinct. That varies on a case by case basis. There are feral cats that are quite tame(though not the majority), and there are housecats that are quite skittish. In fact, most authorities agree, that although cats have served as companions to humans for millenia, they still aren't domesticated.

A few generations of breeding fish will have very little impact on captive fishes hardwired instinct.

Another cool fish is a gold assessor i have mine with a royal gamma they are best buds swim right out as soon as they see me and beg for food

I'm not saying that it will completely dissipate, I'm saying that it will calm down a bit
