I started the SRQT with a 6hr PraziPro bath for a juvenile Naso (3”) that I picked up at the LFS. Afterwards I put him to a 10g QT tank with 2.25ppm Copper and Metroplex. It has a sponge filter and air stone. He has been surface swimming mainly in one spot. He also has rapid breathing. I thought he might have gill irritation from the PraziPro. So I did a partial water change with the intention of ramping up the copper slowly later. But there hasn’t been any improvement. Any suggestions?

Do you have an airstone?

I would also not run Metroplex with copper.

Copper already does everything Metro aims to do but better.

In my experience, spending the money on pre QT fish with companies like NAF; (Not a feesh) the cost is marginal and you will receive a beautiful specimen without the hassle of running QT. Too many times in my years of the hobby have i seen folks fail in their attempt to ~do the right thing (which is what you're doing). Reach out to Hunter with NAF he's very good at what he does and very helpful.

Metro and copper have the same treatment qualities and its one or the other and Metro must be used precisely by weight and when absolutely necessary. In addition metro makes food taste bitter.
I dont believe its the mix of medication that triggered this but you mention Prazi bath - How did you prepare this and did you increase oxygen with an air stone?
With copper, you dont want to ramp level but rather get to treatment level of 2.25ppm right away as ramping allows any given disease to take hold of fish while building up dosage.
Is fish breathing normal or heavy at this time?

Per the SRQT protocol I did a 4 gallon bucket w/ 3ml of PraziPro. Heater and air stone turned up high. I normally start copper at the therapeutic level. The reason why I decided to do a partial water change and ramp the copper back up later was because he was struggling. His coloring isn’t as dark. But is still surface swimming and has heavy breathing.

Be careful with shuffling medication. These guys dont get flukes often as they will ich. When starting coppersafe, stick with the 30 day treatment period - Do not break cycle. Additionally, some of these tangs do not ship well and may play a role.
Monitor ammonia level with a Reliable test kit, no alert badges and utilize air stone

sorry what is SRQT

I would never do this - all medications have side effects - and metroplex is non useful for QT (it is useful for treating a disease). How long has the fish been in copper?

Actually Prazipro can also cause oxygen depletion. Did you treat the fish for 30 days of copper (sorry Iif this has been answered - but I may have missed it)
So I did a partial water change with the intention of ramping up the copper slowly later. But there hasn’t been any improvement. Any suggestions?

A video of the fish - the blotchiness suggests flukes more than anything.
