Nauti Tank 75g Build

You made the ramen and your wife made the fish?
Hey Timmeh, I was poking around earlier and saw that you made your rocks. Something I have looked into before and even tried a little bit… My attempt was not that great so I was wondering if you documented the process somewhere or if there is a recipe you followed.

I would like to upgrade to a 300g in the next couple years and will need more rock 🤘 🎸 😆

Here's the one I did in a thread of its own. I have more sprinkled throughout the 125 build as well but this is the basic How To with the addition of Egg Crate for forms if you want the hanging shelf type.

What is your opinion on adding pearlite to the mix? I vaguely remember reading years ago that it can leach aluminum or something. But it makes a fantastic texture and lightweight rock.

Does anyone know if BTAs will crawl over a sump separation/baffle? Or will I need to put some type of guard or screen there if I want to do that? Mine split and I want to put the new one in the sump before it causes trouble until I can rehome it.

If anyone lives near Cheyenne, Wy and wants an anemone hit me up 😆

I have no opinion. I had read about that as an option but opted for the rock salt instead. Still fairly heavy with the rock salt.

Mine do. I have a screen guard instead of a sponge and I've had one on the opposite side of the screen. It didn't crawl down the weir wall, just stayed hanging upside down from the screen.

The stuff I made 10+ years ago was a similar recipe to yours and I agree, it was still very heavy. With the pearlite in the mix from the pictures I have seen I get the impression that the mix is light enough where you can mold it a little better and it will hold its shape somewhat.
