Nauti Tank 75g Build

Trying to figure out how to get my new clams to stay on the rocks where I want them. I think my wrasse in their incessant hunt for pods or the clumsy pithos crabs keep knocking them down and I’m not supposed to use glue right?
P.S. no mantle nipping

1ocean had a pretty solid recommendation...

hmm.. build a concaved rock or acrylic "cup" and sit it in it after you glue it to the rock structure...just an idea.

Well I am way overdue for an update here. FTS from a 10/30/25 there are a few new additions visible in this shot, most notably the orange plate, left side in the sand and a dragon tamer torch middle sand.

I traded the blue star in the above post and a couple frags to another reefer in Co for a lot of frags. The below pics will have frags from CB and the trade and also two biota clams, one blue and one black. (Can’t seem to find cornbred’s profile here I’ll look more in a second and edit if I find it). Somone remind me to get a pic with the whiter spectrum… I always forget to do that.
All pictures from today 11/9/25:

Below the 4 acros in the foreground are from CB the ones not very visible and behind the red goni are from the local reefer as well as the war coral

Left to right: yellow and blue favia(CB), blue maxima, 3 shrroms from CB, pink platy (CB).

2 torches on the left were from local reefer

Running Reefis? How do you like them and what do you think of their coverage?

I have tried similar and they keep getting knocked over. I think I may try to glue a rock to the side temporarily until the byssal threads take hold then remove the temporary rock.

Thoughts?

Yes, pretty good, love them! I do however, plan to get a strip for the front and back once the coral start growing in more to minimize shadowing.

When I upgrade ill probably get 4 more.

Do you know a good strip light? I’m stuck between quanta and something cheap off amazon 🤣
I’d like to get a hydros before a quanta if that is the route I go.

If I started over (which might happen), I'd probably go quanta. My Orphek strips are OK, but I don't feel like they punch as hard as the Icon (relative to size). Thinking Reefi or Quanta Atlas for next tank. Would definitely be Atlas if Quanta came with control feaures, but then I have to thinking about Hydros with 0-10V control...

I think I've fallen in love with their Atlas and bars.

I think you can get a real simple controller for that, it doesnt have to be as phosisticated as a hydros

I've landed on either an Atlas or a Reefi Uno 2.1 for a 24", 26" or 28" cube. In total nerding out mode.

I think I might be doing a little more than breathing heavy…
It's still a few years out. I want to win ROTM with this build first.

Atlas has my vote
Couple of things I'll check in with Luca about:
1. Spectrum is fixed? It looks like my kind of spectrum, but would be a shame if it's not to my liking--I'm going for a single unit if possible.
2. Recommendations for dimming and control.
3. How to mount to T slots.

Otherwise, Reefi looks like it covers all bases. Still need to check on T slot hanging, but looks easy.

I have asked Luca all those questions except about the T-slot but that's because browsing through his site there are many mounting options so I wasn’t too worried about it.
1.) yes
2.) hydros or a simple 0-10V controller will work

3.) he also has videos of mounting on his Youtube channel.

He got back to me about the Atlas and recommended Helix bars instead since the Atlas would nuke a softie tank. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'm thinking a Reefi might be best in this case.

Yeah the atlas is quite powerful but a couple bars would also work.

I have a small aiptasia problem, I have tried boiling water a few times, some of them come back every time. Admittedly I have been a little lazy about it recently and that is probably part of the problem.

I ordered some pickling lime to paste the little turds with and also some joe’s juice to try.
