Need advice

The corner of my tank hit the floor upon moving it out from the box

The glass thickness was 15mm/ 5/8 inch. Tank size 52x30x19.5. Can i just glue some small pieces of glass in the crack area? No damage on the silicon inside the tank. Any advice from people here. I would run some test after i glue the small glass from outside.

Ps: The idea to glue a small pieces of glass is from my local fish tank manufacturer.

Yeappp i am sure cos i am watching it. One of my staff carry it to low to bad he is no aware of it.

It doesn't look like you broke the bead but it's close. Do a water test on it to see if there are any issues.

Yeap, i would run a test on it for a week after i glue small glass on the crack area. I will install the maxscpect gyre as well and blast it in full power to put more pressure, hope the tank its fine.

I would fill test it. But it is a close call and I would be cautious and seeing if I could return it. Atleast fill it and let it sit for a day. If it were me, I'd probably get a new tank to prevent a possible disaster.

Thanks for the input. I would test fill it after i glue an additional glass from outside and do the test for a week. Hope its fine, no need to get a new tank. Will update it soon.

Did that little piece chipped off completely , meaning if it was not glued would it detach from the big panel? or is it a crack in a big panel itself. If the crack is in a big panel then i would not risk it , because what will most likely happen is that the crack is going to run under pressure and it will split your entire tank . From the first picture it seems like there is a crack in a panel itself , meaning its more likely than not will run through the rest of the panel, kind of like on the car window. If i were you I would send the tank to a manufacturer and paid to replace the cracked panel. I know it takes time and money , and no one would want to do that but if you could the cost of the saltwater, live sand , live rock , and the equipment that could be lost if your trick does not work . It seems like a no brainer.
On a side note if you decide to take that risk , the way i fixed my small acrylic tank is i drilled a tiny hole at the end of the crack so that when the tank is filled up, the pressure won't be able to run the crack any further up the panel, they also do that trick on the car windows. Perhaps you can try to do that on this panel, but i would strongly advice against it.

Its chipped off completely, i will took it out and glue it and add small additional glass from outside on crack area. I dont think it would run though the rest of the panel when i put water in it but we'll see when i do the fill test. Wish me luck. LoL

Ps Return the tank its impossible since the shipping cost it self will be more expensise than the tank it self, since i am getting this tank from China.

Good because I would not have risked it. Having had one fail recently due to a manufacturing issue I would not risk one that has a visible issue.

I built a 55USG sump and it was much thinner glass. I had an identical chip in the lower corner almost exact... same spot. The tank was cheap probably not to the quality you have. When I noticed it I attempted some seal and filled and unfilled it a couple of times with water. I was finally convince it would be fine and installed the sump below my display. Four months later the back glass cracked from the spot of the chip up across up to the rim. The pane that cracked was adjacent to the chip not on the chipped pane. Blew me away... a real mess but the chipped side did not crack the other pane did.
