Looking good today right before a water change:

Maybe even some orange is starting to come back. Guess it like the food yesterday :) today was day 7. Should I continue or stop with the QT tank?

I would continue with the QT. It looks better but not quite back to normal yet. Maybe slow down the water changes, stop copra and continue feeding

So last night I moved the little guy back to the display tank. I put him inside of a solo cup and used a magnet to keep the cup edge at the top of the water. There are many little holes I burned into the cup using a hot wire tool for cutting styrofoam. Watched him for 10 minutes and other in habitants for signs of stress, and all was fine. I looked again this morning and all tank critters seemed no different than any other day. Thanks to all of you for you help saving my nem! I'll post a pic later today when the lights turn on of how everything looks

So, nem was saved and going back to "normal." Why the quotes you ask? Because he is no longer a 400$ orange nem, but a 50$ green tip nem...

Any chance my nem will turn orange in this future, or am I stuck with a green forever?

Congrats on a lot of hard earned work paid off. I've had anemones take a year to change color, wouldn't surprise me if it eventually colored up again. I'd still keep it.

Anything I should do to encourage the nem to go back to orange???

Then who knows if it will change back.

They didn't have a name for it other than orange bubble tip. Some people asked if it was a Colorado sun burst but the seller said probably not.

So my real question is why did it turn green in the first place? Are all nems green?

The zoxan in corals and nems can change color depending on stress, what's available in the water, and the amount of light, your nem just went through a very stressful near death experience give it time it can take months to get back to its original state. It looks like a regular rainbow bubble tip you can usually tell when they are shriveled up the green will stand out more just give the nem time to recover best of luck glad he made it through treatment.

So my real question is why did it turn green in the first place? Are all nems green?

Zooxanthellae itself is brown.
