I'm really glad you stumbled upon my thread then! Also, what do you think of the cipro and bubbles? Im not entirely sure my orange nem is a bubble as its foot is a purple/blue color.
I'm unsure about cipro and bubbles as you are. I've read mixed reviews on the results. Seems cipro works better with carpets and mags, but some seem to have good results with BTA so I'd guess it works as well on them too. Could be BTA are easier and the people that choose BTA, not all but some, may not be as attentive to detail, no offense meant just a possible thought. Your anemone is a BTA for sure. E.quadricolor. I'm glad I'd seems to be improving!

Very healthy bubble tips will have that color foot you deffinitly have a bubble tip and I've treated a few bubbles with cipro and had no issues I had a beautiful green bubble tip with a bright purple base that got ripped in two by a max spect gyre I speedster the two halves and treated with cipro for around a month each both halves survived and were put back into display only to be lost a year later in a tank crash from me leaving on vacation not sure if they would've survived without the cipro :)

Maybe you are right on bubble owners not being as careful. I'm sure at the store, regular people are encouraged to buy anything but only extremely hobbyists are willing to try more delegate anemones.

What type of pump do you recommend for anemones? I haven't bought one for my tank build yet. And thanks to both of you confirming I have a bubble :)

Looks like he is doing better and better everyday! Thanks again for all the help. Expensive to save this guy, but I am really happy this is working.

It is an expensive nem :) just didn't want to come out and say it right away. I bought it at a frag swap. The guy had 2 and I stared at it for a long time before pulling the trigger. Many people asked if it was a Colorado sun burst but the seller wasn't so sure. I didn't care about the name, just the look was too good to pass up.

Well, this is what it looks like today around the same time as usual.

And this is what it looked like when I first turned the light on this morning after cleaning it up a bit.

Looked like the foot was coming apart or delaminating. Looked also as if there was that black goo mush coming out of it as well. This was weird as the nem hasn't eaten in 2 weeks now. Didn't take that pic out of respect for healing. Thanks for checking in :)

It's going downhill, unfortunately. the dark stringy stuff was most likely zooxanthellae. now you'll need to feed it on your own.

First, I'd test that water - ammonia, no3 and po4. I wouldn't have removed it from the dt.

I think you looked at my pics backwards order of time :)

This was what it looked like yesterday before the daily water change and addition of cipro:

You are adding cipro at night right? Because light diminishes it just making sure :)

Yes. I turn on the lights around 10am, turn the lights off at around 6, remove the nem from QT and place in a container, and start the water change process. Once cipro has been added to the water, I turn the room light off and the hallway light on just in case ;) I then add the nem once salinity and temperature match the nem in his container. Keeps doing better daily.

This morning, he actually didn't look like death when I inspected hours before the light would turn on. Huge improvement! Going to keep doing this for 10 total days just in case.

So today my wife said my nem was doing great and was as big as my healthy small nem in the nano shown here:
94370f6fb05506ec5fe1301a9d715d9e.jpg

Then when I got home, right before I looked at the nem it decided to reject some nasty black stuff. I know it was right before I walked in as the make shift pump and filter has sucked up the black stuff seen here:
840ab37324bb0857202b81b55029cb24.jpg

Also, there was a lot more white stringy stuff as well:
6c96d63d7cc235a12924f0d509566fbe.jpg

I'm glad it decided to reject this as I walked in the door so I could remove and do a water change right away :) guess the nem knows the cycle of changes or something XD

This is what the nem looked like after 1 minute being put back into his tank:
b95db84f17cbc2122072069475bbcf06.jpg

I think he is trying to re-inflate and suck water back in as this is what he looked like in the morning 2 days ago as he was re-inflating.

What do you think?

Nems go through deflation cycles he must be trying to purge out his system and he's on the schedule of your water changes

Here is what the nem looked like last night around 11:
7e5db99bfecf4ac059ed292118c7da06.jpg

And this is what the nem looked like this morning around 6 am:
d72747c165e8cba923f379c097b9a84b.jpg

Which it looked like this at 5pm as well.

I decided to feed an hour ago some music shrimp as the nem hasn't changed in 3 days. The nem was mildly aggressive when eating and ate all the shrimp I fed it.

My nem seems to be doing very good. Food for the nem was given at 5, and this is what it looked like at 8:30 prior to water change.
1fc28af8302137c30ad5dd7242f1ef8b.jpg

During the water change process, the nem actually attached to the new container and had to be gently removed. Then within seconds, the nem actually started to attach to the QT tank bottom next to the rock. This was taking hours before today.
Now after a couple hours in the dark, the nem is looking good and has actually migrated across the rock into higher flow with solid foot contact! So glad I made the choice to over nite cipro and start on this water changing schedule. If I had continued with my first plan of 50% daily water changes in the display, the nem would have been dead and maybe my others would be suffering the same fate.
