Zoanthids, spaghetti leathers, or toadstool leathers make good first corals. Resist the urge to pick up green star polyps or xenia - they're easy and relatively attractive, yes, but they spread like wildfire and are difficult to contain once they get started.

Here I was going to be the one recommending GSP because of how it grows, haha

Adding to the above post, Mushrooms and candy canes are good starter corals as well

Well, that's really more of a personal opinion, I guess. If you like the look of GSP spreading over everything, then it's not a bad choice. And I'm not being sarcastic there - I know some people do like that look. If it's something you're ok with, GSP is a great low-cost option to quickly fill a tank with coral. It's just hard to reclaim it from GSP once it gets established. =)

That's why I liked it! My wife and I didn't care if it took over a huge chunk of our aquascape. I do agree though, if you aren't prepared for it, it can be rough to deal with

I feel like it’s one of those that you add in pretty much towards the end to fill in the rest of the reef

Zoanthids, leathers, and mushrooms are the way to go. Very resilient and colorful

It ended up being one of the first corals in mine because it was a hitchhiker on the tuxedo urchin I bought, haha

What kind of lights are they?
hygger Marine Clip On LED Light model HG088

It’s what my local fish store had I have them on a time they use it in they there coral tank, they look good and they said that they work well could I have gotten something more expensive? Yes but I’m trying not to break the bank. If I need something better I can always get it. They won’t that expensive right now. I am just trying to get into the hobby so I’m not trying to break the bank.

Got it. They will work for a while, I don't know what size your tank is, but it looks pretty big. As per google, your lights are 30 watt lights, so you have 60 watts total. Just to give you an idea, I have 60 watts on my 10 gallon, I have 55 watts on my 15 gallon. So look at wattage when buying, not the price. Some of the lower budget lights that have good reputations on this forum are Nicrew (which I use myself) Vivarpsectra, Smatfarm, Jebao, Popbloom.

I second the (neon green) toadstool suggestion - no. 1 coral to have in your first tank. The bigger the better.
That was one of the corals I started with!
