I need some advice/help here. I recently dosed fluconazole at half recommended concentrations to help rid a bryopsis infestation. While it worked temporarily, the bryopsis is returning less than a few weeks later.

This first round has killed almost all of my nicest SPS, so I cannot really afford to do another round now.

Are there any other options for eliminating this algae or is the only path forward a full on reset?

I seen an interesting method posted by @vetteguy53081 using dental tools to remove the roots so it doesn't grow back after manual removal. I don't have much faith in chemical treatments for bryopsis personally.
I was heartbroken when I saw it happening. Everything started to slowly bleach and then turn to STN. It’s still progressing.

It’s popping up everywhere now. I tried epoxying over the patches but there’s too many now. I’ll try some manual removal again, but this algae may be too resilient.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I had a really bad outbreak on my 150 and I removed it over and over again by hand and it kept coming back, it was so frustrating. But think about it like weeding dandelions in a lawn you need to get the taproot. Using a dental pick to remove the roots is genius.

TBH I have no idea what ultimately killed my bryopsis, it started withering away and turning soft one day and was gone in about 2 weeks just out of the blue after battling the stuff for months.

If you take the rock out, work on it under a lamp in a plastic container with dental tools and remove every bit of the bryopsis including the root you can get ahead of it. It's a lot of work but better than a restart or buying chemicals.
