If you post...

parameters
equipment list
list of tank inhabitants
history on that coral
full tank shot

...someone might be able to give some good advice.

Tank parameters
8 ph
0 phosphate
0 nitrate
Dkh 7.8
Calcium 410

Today is the first day it didnt open at all when the lights came on.

History on the coral
Ive had it for 2 months with no issues then it started to split and since then it went down hill. I can see both mouths but it seems to be almost dead now. Only thing i can think of is some type of pest but i see nothing. It had a bunch of white spots in the skeleton when i got it but i removed them

No phosphates and nitrate is the problem or part of the problem. You have zero nutrients which starves your corals. Shoot for phosphate of .05-.1 and nitrate of 10-15. To much is better than to little. Also if you test magnesium would you post the results?

ReefRoids or some other dried pellet foods. Might want to see about getting some phosphate additive. Sodium Triphosphate or one of the liquids from aquarium companies like Brightwell Neophos

Lowering the light affects everything in the tank, lights should be a "set it and forget it" thing. New corals should be placed low in the tank to adjust to your light before they are moved to their final position, but IMO its not ideal to lower and increase lighting every time you add a new coral. And this is only necessary if you have very strong lighting compared to where it came from, often you can just set the coral in place right away. Just my 2 cents.

Unless you have checked with a par meter you are guessing. Your eyes are not equipped to judge light intensity on newfangled aquarium lights.

What lights? How many? What size tank? You might find a fellow reefer that can offer advice if they have a similar setup. But you need to supply lots more information.

Ok so they are not crazy powerful at 60w each. Red Sea says 100par at 20" depth which is almost where your tank is at the bottom. I am guessing that's at 100% power? I dunno. How much power are you running at peak setting for your light cycle? How many hours a day with ramp up and down? Unless your corals are pretty high up in the tank and directly below the light with full power, it's unlikely you are hitting them with too much light.

To me right now light is secondary to no nutrients. Dose nitrate and phosphate, or try feeding more (Never worked for me). 5-20 nitrates, .1-.3 phos. Feed the corals, they will be happier.

Clearly light is important, but no nutrients is far worse.

Very true! I made some suggestions to the OP when asking about increasing PO4. I also suggested some alternatives like directly adding them. Not sure if message was received..

My LPS always do best when I target feed them too, even with PO4 .1 and NO3 20-30 ranges and par 150-200 go figure..

No nutrients. Mine does great 0.2 ppm phosphate and 30ppm nitrate. I have some heads in 150 and some in 400 par. All are doing great

Ramp up and down is one hour each.
