Here's a possible rock structure for a 240 peninsula. The overflow will be on the left side, marked here with a bin lid which also marks the height of the water column. Pictured below is front view, front angle view, top down view, and side view.

I would try thickening up the right arm.

These 2 lines are parallel. I would rotate and or move the front structure a bit.

The arch is a bit flat on top. Corals can change that or you can turn it upside down.

It will look more interesting from all sides if it's not parallel to the side.

Hi there,

Currently I had to take out 90% of my corals to a QT due to flatworm issue. So it is a good time to re design the aquascape especially that I am not really happy and satisfied with the current one.

I would appreciate it if you help photoshop or give me some insight

If you need an outside perspective to help with improving your aquascape, just post here a few shots of your tank, and will try my best shot at providing specific advise according to your goals for the tank.

Sometimes I can just answer here, show the alterations using photoshop or make a video.

Just post here front shots with your cellphone/camera positioned at 3 different heights (sand level, centre and water level) and also a couple of angled photos, so that I can have a better understanding of your tank's layout.

This is a subject that is surprisingly not researched by most reefers and I have given some thought and some time ago I did a similar exercise in another forum.

It's also a great way for everyone to learn from each other and see a few freshwater techniques that we can apply and also many others that are specific for reef tanks.

In the meantime, if you want some inspiration here are a few videos I made with suggestions for different tank shapes.

Here is my current predicament

the cardboard on desk is my tank length and width. The cardboard on back is my tank height. Wanted to do something interesting w dry rock using acrylic rods for support on left/right side. Will use live rock from current tank on the opposite side.
Wanted some shelves and swim through areas/caves for fish. Any suggestions?

Here is my latest iteration...my Lady likes the tree on the left as she saw some really nice tanks with sticks growing off a tree like structure and loved it. So that's her slice of heaven. Now i'm trying to build around that but keep the visual impact of the scape. I also have some live rocks I have to get in this tank as there are Nems on them. Also for tank cycling i'd like to add my live rock in. I have in yellow what/where it would be.

Im locking this down so any help is appreciated. It's not the "2 island" OP suggests for a rectangle but i'm working with what I have.

How many I make my 10 gallon aqua scape more interesting. The tank is only 1.5 months old. Did the mistake of frying newly added Acropora with excess light.

How does this scape look? It's hard to get a good shot due to the front panel being slanted, it's a custom ~30gal tank.

We're new to the hobby and started our 20gal tank back in April with no intention of diving into corals...well here we are.

Except for the duncans ledge in the center most of the rock faces are fairly vertical on the front face of the tank. We'd like to maximize coral placement and get them on the rocks.

Inhabitants: 2 clowns, royal gramma, orange spotted goby, misc snails/hermits

Coral: ricordea, hammer, rock flowers, blasto, favia, duncan, a small piece of struggling birdsnest.

Probably do 2 islands. Also I’d start with easier corals before going to acros. I’ve been reading for 2 years and am now just starting to think about adding sps.

I bleached 2 of my 3 acros. It was stupid of me to add them this early. Thank you for your feedback on the aquascape. Exciting things have happened and I am upgrading to a 40 gallon breeder. Will make the 10 gallon a fuge.

Hi Guys,

We're brand new to the saltwater game and just put this together. 6yr old daughter and 3yr old son helped out so it'd kinda heavy on the rock in the middle. But let us know what you think. It's for a 90 gal tank with 20gal+- sump, 48" x 18" x 24".

We were looking for a few caves for fish to swim through and a little cove area with a few flat spots for corals. I can get around all of it to clean so I've got about 2" min to the glass in a few spots but generally a lot more.

Here it is after a bit of cleanup and tinkering. I like it better now. Still need to cover up some epoxy but that's easy to hide.

This will be mainly fish with easy to care for corals.
