Need help with your aquascape?

20g IM so not much room to work with but this is it so far. My only thing I'm questionable about is the rock island on the left, as I know in a small tank once corals are there the small canyon/island will connect.

What I would do with your rock is rotate the right structure a little to the right more and bring the single rock forward and to the left a little.
But that is just my interpretation... :)

The island needs more space around it and maybe a different orientation.

Here's a suggestion: move the structure a bit to the right and rotate it, so the cave won't be right in the centre and turned towards the front.

I have two fish and no reefs.... what do you suggest? I thought some plants (fake) in background to cover up the much blue colors.

I suggest leaving the blue background and using white sand.

The 2 structures have roughly the same height.

I would try to rotate the plate upwards and find a new orientation for the left rock to create a difference in height.

Have you tried putting all the reef branches together, like they were a single structure (tree like)?

So, still under construction, apologies for the “bluish”... ( morning light AND apple photo). The tank is 2,5 meter long.

What do you think of it?
Everything is built by myself :-).

I’m planning to house some angles and butterfly fish’ in the tank, together with some montipora (fast growing) sps corals. And, of course some smaller fish.

Here are a few tips:

- Your tank is very long, there's no reason to have rock next to the side glasses.

- You have different rock types, avoid mixing them in the same structure.

- A hardscape of 3 islands, each with roughly 2/3 of the size of the other, would work well in your tank.

This is the best I could come up with!

Looks nice. However the frog spawn on the top will grow & sting other corals. It will also block the light for corals underneath. I had a colony about 3 feet long that shaded half my tank (had it for about 9 years). I sold it all except a few small pieces. Just gofo for thought.

I'm setting up a corner pentagon aquarium, mixed reef for a snowflake eel and some slightly aggressive fish. The wood blocks represent the 3" sand depth. Opinions? Enough hiding spots for an eel?

Here's my soon to be taken down system as it moves into my new 425xl. This is a 36 gallon corner bow tank. I've always found these difficult to aquascape and maintain a sense of depth and expanse. Back about 12 years ago when this system was started, the recommendations were for 1-2 pounds of rock per gallon.....impossible to achieve anything but a rock pile! Luckily as the years passed and we learned we needed less rock; I was able to re-do this tank in a more minimalist way. I've been reasonably happy with this scape but looking forward to moving it all into the new tank.
Anyways perhaps it will serve others as a starting point on their scapes in this unusual tank shape.

It's a shame your changing the tank now. I particularly like the right side as it is now, but the left side would turn out stunning too after a few months of coral growth.
