hey guys, i think i might be getting out of the hobby soon before its to late. i'm getting so busy with my girlfriend, applying to colleges, fall baseball and baseball scholarships, etc. and i just don't have time for my tank. i have two things in my tank that i want to get a price i should sell it at. first is a grape watermelon chalice that i bought at about 3/4 of an inch and has grown to about 2.5". second is a nuc green mini colony of 20 polyps, 5 of which are a little bigger than babies. how much should sell each for?

I've fragged a lot of chalice and I tend to lose many frags. Just a heads up if you're weighing options to cut it up.

i have an old pic of when it was a baby frag, looked exactly like surfn's little frag. but now it matured and has developed yellowish eyes and is not a solid purple body but purple w/pink scattered on it. its legit, trust me. i bought it from pazzaz a while back, sold as a grape.

I sell mine for 40.00 for 1/2 inch or better 60.00+ for inch or better on all my grape watermelons but mine grow fast so if yours is slow def 80 range and is well colored.

Why does it seem like Nuc's are going for more than PD's? PD's are purple for goodness sakes. Personally I'd cut up the nucs unless you don't have time. Its a lot harder to sell large colonies of that sort of thing then it is smaller frags.

Take it from me, it happens all the time. I get in a rock of really nice zoos and price them for $100, it doesn't sell. I frag the same rock up into 20 frags priced at $15 each, they sell way faster. It doesn't make sense in the grand scheme of things but most people don't think about it that way when they buy corals.

20x $15 is $300, it may be hard to find a buyer for that compared to $100 or less for smaller frags.

To me the Nuke's are way cooler than the purple deaths. I love the bright green it gives off. I would definitely pay more for nukes than purple deaths.

I can't get 10 per polyp on my nuclear greens local. Got a frag for sale local 8 polyps for 70 bucks! NO one interested!

Anyway, IF you are willing to ship you will get more for your corals.

Good luck.
