Is it ok for the return line to be under water when returning the clean water to the sump from the skimmer?

John, when I was using an external skimmer, my return was about an inch under the water without issue. Obviously just my experience.

The water line is at 11 inches and the highest I can get this return is 9 inches

Mine is an inch or so under the water level. Keeps splashing and saltcreep at a minimum

I am zero help on this one, sorry John

I can't see any issue with it. Some pictures of the plumbing may help. Also is it a separate feed pump for the skimmer or is it being run off the main return pump for the tank?
