I have a Red Sea Max 250, 65 gallon tank that has a hood that has issues. Runs 6 - T5s. Balasts need to be replaced. Fans are difficult to replace.
I have not been able to find a replacement hood for this older tank. So I am interested in converting it into a Dimmable, fully controllable LED
lights inside the hood.
Where the light housing area obviously would need to be gutted and rewired and set up.

I'm looking for recommendations on lighting.
I also don't want to break the bank in purchasing the light(s) and cost of installing and setting it up.

Light need to be - Cost effective
Low profile (the thinner, the better)
I'd have to get exact dimensions but it is probably around 8 " x 24-28"
LED reef quality - grow corals
Fully controllable, and external outside of the light, which will be in the housing inside the hood.

What will fit and what would work here?
I'm looking at something like a Micmol, AI Prime, Kessil A360X (expensive!), JBJ Orion
What others do you know of and is there someone who has done something like this before?

Thanks for your assistance

These are pictures WITH the hood, running T5 lighting

I had to go to a Glazier and he made me a two piece glass cover, with cutouts
and I am running a JBJ Orion LED light above it.

I don't want to reuse the light inside the hood, but might consider buying a second one.
So in case I want to remove the hood again, I don't have to trash the setup and the wiring to get
it back and usable the next time I want to go back to the glass hood.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
