Nem splits

Came home last night and this big boy had split, I hadn’t noticed there were two little guys behind the rock work. Must have split before and I hadn’t realized. What really causes splitting to happen?

Numerous things can cause splitting.

1. Alk Shock
2. Damage
3. Happy and just want babies.
4. Etc. Etc.

Sometimes splits are a defense mechanism and others are just cause they can lol. Congrats on babies of a good looking nem.

Edit: I did not mean deference mechanism lol. On a conf. call with DOD right now and defense is in my head.

Survival Mechanism is what I meant lol.

My nems split a lot. The guys at my LFS said it’s because I feed them a ton.

I feed them chunks of squid and shrimp every other week.
