For at least a few days now my MP40 goes missing and turns off. I can get it to start by re-uploading my config then it runs normal for about 5 minutes then goes missing again and shuts off. I have a neptune apex el with a WXM. I did update firmware yest and restarted the entire system (unplugged for 5 min). It works for 5 minutes then goes missing and off.

Not sure how to best debug this?

My wife just text me and asked if I shut the pumps down 5mins ago. I replied no, looked on my Fusion App and all MP’s say “missing”.

I looked in my module section and my WXM was fine and connected, but all MP’s “missing”. I turned off power to all MP’s for 30secs and turned them back on, 3 of 4 reconnected. I’ll cycle power again...

I used to have occasional problems with my Radions showing “Missing” on my WXM. After relocating the WXM out from under my equipment cabinet to the wall behind my tank, the connection remained solid. I think the problem was due to RF interference from other nearby equipment.

From Neptune support. I have not tried yet

And they are still missing, then please do the following:
  1. Reset the pumps to factory settings (Mode+set, mode, set)
  2. Unplug WXM
  3. Reset the pumps again
  4. Delete WXM (Configuration> module setup)
  5. Plug WXM back in
  6. Attach pumps (mode+set, tap set 6 times)

I’d hate to lose all my vortech programming because of them. Ugh. Hopefully their current outlets won’t be affected, if so, what a major bummer to my programming.

I have since also opened a ticket.

One thing im noticing is my MP is plugged into my apex and that socket should be set to always on but its going to off. I dont know if it goes to off because the pump goes missing or the pump goes missing because that plug goes to off.

Third down

Why are you turning pump off for 5 mins? Anytime they lose power they're going to disconnect from Apex. If you want pumps to oscillate just use the OSC programming. Check out @SuncrestReef tutorials

I too have all four MP’s plugged into apex for power monitoring on my eb832, that outlet never goes to OFF in my case.

Mine is still showing power to that main outlet, and wattage usage(which is weird), but, the actual MP virtual outlets are still showing “missing”.

I turned off my mp40 outlet, then unplugged each individual power supply to all four drivers. I let them sit for about a minute, then plugged them in, and then turned the main outlet back to “Auto(on)”.

All four connected and have been fine for about 30mins.

Odd, very odd...

Same exact thing happens to me I have 2 mp40 on a wxm and 1 of them go missing all the time. The mp40 in question is in the basement and wxm in upstairs in living room. The mp40 in living room next to wxm never has issues so I wonder if it’s rf interference

^This is something to consider.

Neptune has recommended the use of ferrite cores around cables (nearest plugs/ports) for the symptom of [things disappearing].

I had a super repeatable case that happened with support on the line (two technicians in fact) and that is what they asked me to try first. After weeks of going back and forth (testing/recommendations/testing/etc) this recommendation solved the issue of modules and (specific) sensors going offline or missing altogether off and on.

Granted, my issue wasn't with CORs or with WXMs, but it might be something to try. Also, *nothing* in my setup had changed or moved so it was weird that I experienced such intermittent issues after a period of things working fine. The nature of interference is that it isn't always persistent or problematic.

If you're running Apex 2016 (newer vers) you can go into (under modules) click on your WXM and change frequency either 1 or 2
