I am breaking down my current setup (a 65g, BioCube 14 and 10g Frag tank all plumbed together) and replacing it with a custom made 180 gallon. The separate tanks were too much of a headache. Every week was another issue, whether the overflow on the biocube/10g failing to different problems in the different tanks,

But now I find myself wondering what to do with all my fish until the new tank is ready for them. I want to start the new tank fresh and not import any of the old issues, but I'm not really keen on keeping two systems going at once for a few months.

Your lfs might hold onto your fish for a bit, but most likely you'll need to run 2 systems. Either use the 65g to hold everything or pick up a big plastic tote from the farm supply store

Ok, it took a while but I got it installed, stable and programmed. I think final size came to 144 because it was custom made to fit the existing stand.

I know it’s not centered, that’s for a few reasons. First, the drain holes were already in place from my last build. Second, there’s no supporting brace on the right side (the furniture was existing before the tank). Third, to extend the tank would have been thousands more. I think I’ll just even it out with some cool art on the side. Thinking a ship in a bottle sort of thing.

Some may think the control board is distracting. But truth is when people come in my office they don’t notice the board until after staring at the tank. Plus, this isn’t my living room so I can geek out all I want.

Now the fun part, filling this baby up!
