Hey all! Been a while since I posted. I just got a free 72 Gallon aquarium that I’m currently testing for leaks as I type. I was given the sump and protein skimmer as well but I have no knowledge as to how it was previously set up.

plumbing isn’t really my concerns as to how this skimmer works? Does the whole thing get submerged into the water inside the sump? There also isn’t very much room to clean the cup once it’s inside so I also wanted to make sure it wasn’t too large. I’ll attach some photos. Any advice is appreciated.
I currently have a 20G Nano that I’d love to transfer over to this aquarium once its done it’s cycle.

That’s awesome! People get so lucky with tanks.. the skimmer kinda looks like the pump sits inside the sump and the skimmer sits right on the other side of the glass/acrylic.. not sure if the plumbing clears the edge though I can’t tell from the pics.. good luck with everything!! Keep us posted on this thread! What does your nano look like?

So no leaks at this point. It’s been a battle with the plumbing system but I’ve changed the ball valve to adjust the flow of my sump pump. While the tank cycles I’m going to get my hands on the necessary parts for a refugium. The lockdown has made it a little difficult to shop so hopefully I can find something local.
