Hi all! It’s great to be back after 5 years out of the hobby! Getting back into it, and seems like in just the 5 years time, a lot has changed. Before starting again, I previously owned two aggressive tanks, two community tanks of Inverts and non aggressive/semi aggressive fish, and one reef tank. I have a question for the fine folks on here. I am starting with a 90 gallon FOWLR, and will be building a 300 Gallon next. I am looking at 4 fish. A Cherry Louti Grouper, a Freckled Hawkfish, A Fiji Foxface, and a Pinktail Triggerfish. I have owned species of each, but never these exact ones. For the health of the fish, what order would you introduce them to the tank? They are all babies, so I have time to build the bigger tank as their final home. Thank you in advance for all feedback.

Hawkish, Foxface, Trigger, grouper, by aggressiveness. Depends on size too. A large, aggressive Foxface could clear everyone out. The Hawk could get intimidated, let him establish a good spot first.

Thanks very much for the reply. The Foxface and Pink trigger are tank mates at my LFS. All four of them are no more than 3 inches. The manager has been holding them for me. Does that make any difference?

You’re going to have to upgrade with the next 1-2 years because they will outgrow that tank in that amount of time.

I agree with the other guys stocking order.

I don’t think so. Should make the transition to the new tank easier for them.

Yes, we plan on building a minimal of 300-500 gallon.
