Just purchased 1 hydra 32 AI and I was wondering if anyone could give me an advice as to what settings to put it on. It will be going on a 90gal tank. I’m still putting it together I purchased it used and resealed the whole tank. I still have to clean it a bit more but I will do so when I test for leaks I will put some citric acid to be able to scrape all the left over junk in it.

I would start with setting your blues violet uv to 40-50% and white 10-20% white is really up to your own taste. I have 4 prime HD on a 36” and run blues 70% white 10% with mostly lps/soft. Set a schedule anywhere from 8-12 hours with a 2 hour ramp.

No prob, a ramp up time is like sunrise/sunset or the time it takes from when the light comes on until full power. If you run very high intensity you may not want a long peak period so say 12 hour light period with 4 hour ramp 4 hour peak and 4 hour ramp down

I have a 8 hour peak and 2 hour ramp because my intensity is fairly low. When your tank is new you will want a shorter light period for a while to avoid algae bloom.

This is by far the best explanation I’ve gotten. I really appreciate it. I have a 32 gal Biocube so I never had to mess with the light. But on the new tank I’m clueless on a lot of things. I’m researching everything about the sump, lights etc

This will be very helpful
These lights like many other leds have endless settings which is good and bad because sometimes you just can’t stop messing with the colours
