Hello all! Got my first anemone yesterday, a long tentacle anemone. Wanted to know how it’s looking also like basic care for them, i’ve read you can feed like fresh shrimp from grocery stores but was unsure about it. Also have 2 clowns and that’s about it for now!

If grocery store shrimp, no shell and cut into pinky nail size pieces .
Feed 2x per week

Yep looks good. I also feed my two bubble tip anemones mysis twice a week. I find the mysis is a better size, and available at most petcos. The larger grocery store shrimp can lead to over feeding.

Your tank looks very new, anemones generally need well-established, mature tanks. How old is your tank and what kind of lighting do you have. It’s hard to deduce these things from photos, and so if I’m way off base, I apologize and you can disregard my advice, but just being honest, your tank doesn’t look ready to keep an anemone. The anemone looks okay for now, but over the next few months your tank is going to be fairly unstable as it matures. I would hold off on feeding it, maybe a little bit of mysis every week or two, it needs adequate lighting (150-250par) and stable parameters (you want some nutrients, like 10ppm nitrates, 0.03-0.08ppm phosphates, and stable alkalinity (7-12dkh). Test a lot, do what you can to ensure stability, and cross your fingers it makes it through the next six months.
