Check what ATI says. Can these be mounted in a canopy?
That’s how my canopy is too. Considering statons for my new lights.I have an open canopy so they hang from the ceiling but the actual fixtures are hidden.
Check what ATI says.
"IF" I remember correctly they don't recommend being inside a hood.
I have 4 fans, 4 vent holes drilled in the top of my canopy and a chiller. I have a mix of lights that I am happy with in my canopy but just curious in case I ever decided to change out my lights. They are passive cooled but a properly vented cabinet shouldn't post a problem - easy enough to test though. A low noise fan could be installed to direct air over them. I know a few who have Coral Care Gen 2's in cabinets although they have a larger heatsink but it does include the power supply.
what made you decide on 3 of the 153 as opposed to the 204s? and are you hanging them longitudinally or transverse? pic? thanks! Thanks guys, appreciate the feedback; noise was my last concern. Just ordered 3x 153s for our new 72x30x24.
How are you liking them so far? I recently ordered some too, haven't set them up yet. Thanks guys, appreciate the feedback; noise was my last concern. Just ordered 3x 153s for our new 72x30x24.
Width, length, coverage and output fit well for the new tank I'm working on 72long x 30wide x24 high SPS tank. I also looked at wattage per dollar calculations vs aesthetics and coverage considerations; aesthetics and coverage won out. If it was a mixed reef I'd very much consider the 204s. As per direction, the 153s are squares and orientation will be such that the three light groups per panel align along the length of the tank from front to back.what made you decide on 3 of the 153 as opposed to the 204s? and are you hanging them longitudinally or transverse? pic? thanks!
Can't say yet, new build is at least six months out from turning the lights on.How are you liking them so far? I recently ordered some too, haven't set them up yet.
I’ve got brand new Straton Pros sitting next to my tank, still need to set them up. If you have links to any useful info on figuring out the spectrum or how to properly acclimate my acros to them, I’d appreciate it. Or is it more of just playing with themHey yes
It is still to early to compare growth etc as tank is only 2.5 months. I do have a few acros, chalices and torches all doing well. New tank stuff going on but nothing crazy. Lights are beautiful took a bit to figure out spectrum etc but overall think the will be amazing. Just hit 70 percent power last week so a bit to go yet. I will send updates. I don’t think it’s fair to compare yet. I do Alredy have great coralline growth.
I just started very slow and still burnt a few tips. But that was probably more new tank stuff. I like the deep sea setting had the par like 250 or less just hit 375 ish the key was adding cyan to make the blues pop and fade out the uv cloudy lookI’ve got brand new Straton Pros sitting next to my tank, still need to set them up.
