So I set up a biocube 32, 7 days ago exactly, and used 40 lbs live sand (rinsed) + a ton of live rock from a LFS. I added 3 chromis 2 days ago. So far, all my numbers (ammonia, nitrite and nitrate) are still zero. I also added full bottle of Dr. Tims one and only 3 days ago. I haven't had an algae bloom, lights are on 8 hours a day. No clean up crew yet.

did my tank not cycle since everything used was "live?"

I remember when i first got into the hobby 15 years ago i bought a complete system from a reefer, transferred it home and set it up again (drained water, left sand in the tank, and set it up a few hours later).

I'm thinking Either i didn't cycle or its a very light cycle...

Can I start adding more fish? i'm waiting on the snails and CUC till i see some algae and get more fish so theres actually something to clean

If you used established rock + live sand + dr tims then it probably makes sense that you have no ammonia or nitrite.

You won’t see a cycle if it’s good mature live rock, that’s not been dried out, and you have enough of it. Happy reefing.
