I bought this guy yesterday. I was in a hurry when I got home so I quickly dipped and just placed it on a rock in my tank. Went to fix it with epoxy this morning and noticed that there's a significant chunk of tissue gone from the center. I don't know if we just didn't notice when I bought it, or if one of my creatures had a snack. In any case, is it a goner? Seems pretty serious. Sorry about the picture quality, but you can see the light colored area at the bottom of the center. Thanks.

Nothing about my parameters would eat away that much tissue in hours. All other corals looking healthy in the tank. The frag either came injured or was damaged by a fish in my tank. Not sure if lobos are a favorite snack for any of my fish. In any case, it's definitely injured and I'm hoping someone can tell me if it's likely to heal, assuming it's not being eaten, and if there's anything I should be doing to promote healing.

Hmm whats your PO4 and NO3? I use the same dip and your params from the apex look fine. I had a thought about temperature shock. I run a colder tank than 80 because my scolys like it.

It could recover as long as whatever caused it doesn’t continue. I would dip it in a disinfecting type dip, something iodine based like sechems reef dip. And would put it in a relatively low light low flow area. Observe it and see if you can figure out what happened
