I am new to BTA I just bought my very first one in a very established 125 gallon tank with two strong canister filters.
I only have two clowns and a very well behaved damsel (thank god)
My BTA was purchased yesterday and by the end of the night he was attached to the side of the glass facing the wrong direction for viewing purposes lol. I have a flow maker inside the tank, but I’m not sure if it’s too strong. It’s about the size of the palm of my hand, but I’m not sure about the brand cause it’s been so long.
But is a decent amount of flow good and also will he stay stuck to the glass forever?

Hey you have a long tentacled anemone not a bubble tip. They bury their foot in the sand and prefer moderate indirect flow

Anemones will go where they please lol , where did you get yours from? I’ve found tank raised nems fare better than wild caught

LTA is fine , it is just a different species of nem. Just monitor it and leave it alone it will need to adjust to yr tank

All anemones are the same when they die they will just rot away like anything else whoever told you that is a good salesman. It looks fine just let it find it's spot.

Kinda figured. but it seems very healthy. As far as flow goes. How can I tell if it’s too strong? And should I just now have any flow?

If it doesn't like the flow it will just move be sure to have a guard over your wave maker they like them and it might get sucked in. Give it time to settle in before you make any changes.

So my filter has a flow maker on where it pushes the water out of. I just put it back on and turned the flow maker off cause the filter seems to make a small amount of flow. My power head was making the water pretty strong and also the filter won’t suck up and blend the LTA. Was this a good move?

prob. selling a moderately bleached LTA as a blueish BTA. either that or wildly uninformed. color will definitely change once it acclimates. Should end up tan-ish and/or green ime. Ive nursed a lot of LTA back and they are surprisingly hardy once settled in.

Make sure to set lights lower for a week or to acclimation mode if that is an option. No feeding at all until it gets its foot under a rock or into the sandbed

Understood. Makes me feel a little better about this whole thing.
Is it okay if I use my filter as the flow so I don’t risk the thing getting sucked up into the flow maker?
How low of light?

matters the light you are using. but probably best to start at half strength increasing it bit by bit for about 2 weeks back to normal.
if you are worried about that you can wrap the intakes with some filter material like this one linked below

Also. I have a small emerald crab to keep hair allege under wraps. Just 1 in a tank full of live rock. Will that be fine? He’s next to the LTA rn and he’s just chilling eating allege.

u will be fine unless the lta starts decaying. it shouldnt try to host in the nem but something like a porcelain crab can annoy an anemone before it gets a chance to settle

So it moved to a nice top in the middle of the tank. The clown is hanging out in it but when the other clown tries to come to the LTA the clown snaps at the other clown lol.
Also I just witnessed the clown bring the food I put in the tank to the mouth of the LTA is this a good sign?

is it on the rockwork itself? that is very odd for a lta. clowns always try to feed and you can let them do their thing, just dont target feed yet
