I have a new tank that just cycled. A few days after the cycle ended I added two Clown fish and a Bi-color Blennie. The clowns were swimming around the tank for the first 5 or so hours. Then they both went to the same corner and are staying there floating vertically. I suspect something is wrong. Any advice is appreciated.

Dont see anything unusual but can you take a couple of pics under white lighting to confirm?
Did you acclimate them and for how long ?

If I had a dollar for every "new clowns acting strange" thread.

Clowns like to "host" the silicone in the corners of tanks. Whatch the blennie though they can be aggressive.

Sure thing. Here are a couple of pictures with the lights turned white.

Yeah, they look fine. Mine do that too where they will be vertical like that. Eventually they will find and make a part of the tank their territory. Just make sure water quality stays good, and you'll be good.

Look closely at their gills and mouth. Are they breathing fast, or calmly?

Makes me consider using a bunch of cut air line pieces to imitate an anemone. :)
You could buy a good artificial anemone if the tank is too new or if you do not want to get a Bubble tip anemone. Bubble tip anemones are pretty easy to care for honestly if things are stable.

Yup, like everyone says, clowns do all kinds of strange things like that, nothing I would worry about. I was concerned about mine staying in one corner when I first got them, but as additional inhabitants were added they got more active in other locations. They still never venture deeper than about halfway down the tank, but they're about my favorite fishes.

When I read the title I was almost sure it was just clown fish being clown fish. Mine used to host the return hose in my tank for the longest time. Until they figured out we have 60+ anemone in the tank at least.
