I had 2 of the IC pro LEDs with their wave makers. Hopefully this new light is a lot better. I did like the colors of the light and the app. I even played with the gimmicky storm settings and connected it to a speaker for about an hour. I didn't get much in the way of growth. This was with stable params and dosing. Everything exploded when I switched to ReefLed 90s and 50s. I did like the individual color channels on the orbit marine IC pros better than the Red Sea, but the growth wasnt even close. I'm guessing these new lights are closer, maybe even better. I mean they basically look like a knock off red sea.

Picture pre coral and fish.

What's weird is I have a cheap saltwater led from Amazon on our qt tank. The corals in there while we switch look AMAZING. Much better than they ever have with the Current lights. Hopefully I just need to work with the settings, but we're both shocked at how much more the corals pop in this cheap, weak led VS the higher quality Current lights.

Here's an update with coral and fish. Not sure what has happened, but since moving everything from the 75 gallon and adding a 4th light, all of our corals are out doing better than ever. Not sure if the additional flow from better pumps, more light, or what is going on, but so far it's great!

The light on our 20 is a Nicrew blue and white led bar. The colors on that light make the corals color look much better than the R24. I was shocked at how good and vibrant they looked.

While the R24s provide great growth, the colors just don't seem nearly as deep in color. I should have taken a picture for comparison, but anyone have any tips for that?

Just an update: I’m not sure what to think of this.

after adding the current strip lights with the R34 I’m seeing a huge growth in coralline but the bad part is it only grows heavily where the strip is placed. Same with my powerhead. It’s only growing on the strip part of light.

I am seeing growth in my tank slight growth from monti, stylophora and 2 lps coral nothing has died after I fixed the alkalinity issue.

either that part of the tank is being blast with light and the coralline doesn’t like high amounts of light or it’s not enough. Here are some pictures.

Since I hated selling my percula clowns, I think I'm gonna set up a 20g tank for a new pair with our extra R24 lying around. Should be plenty for that size tank.

In the meantime, here's our newly converted from freshwater 125!

Update: I just bought Ai prime 16 hd for my second tank and rented a par meter today( have it till tomorrow ).

I’m disappointed to say I was right this light is not good for a mix reef tank compared to AI. I’m running full intensity on r24 while only getting 210 par max on top my rock, while getting 490+ from AI prime. Plus I’m also running the ic strip as well. For almost the same price this light is not worth buying.

I gave in on buying the ai prime for a different tank is to see my bleaching stylophora bounce back with the ai prime, which it did with half intensity.

That's really weird as most of the R24 people post between 3 and 500 on tops give or take some. Wonder if you may have a bad one

I probably do, if that’s the case. I ordered it from Amazon and it seems this is my bad buy. The ai prime I got was from my lfs, same with renting a par meter.

this was also one reviewer who did his readings on Amazon. It could be an Amazon problem.

I opened a case with current. Gave them what they asked for in the morning they haven’t responded back yet. In the meantime I kept testing par on my tank max I’m getting is 300 on top of my rocks and drops drastically compared to ai. Plus I’ve been using a glass top to avoid evaporated which cut down to 130 max on top.

The new version will be available very soon. This makes me wonder if my 4 52w versions are enough for our 125? We seem to be getting good growth so I'm assuming so

Well that's kinda bull, it's the same 5w chips and ratio just ran at a higher wattage. They should've just released the 95 watt and let us dial it back or somehow give us with the 52 the ability to drive ours at 95 watts. As it is I have to dial mine back so I don't burn stuff. If I run my blues over 60% my zoa's on the sand bed close up.

Anyone else been using these lately? Or tried the new 90w? Don't think they're available yet, so probably hard to get any feedback yet.

As expensive as it would be to upgrade, I think we'll be keeping our 52w.

On our 20g, we have 1 of these with 85% blues and 45% whites for daylight.

We have 4 on our 125 with 100% blue and 50% whites for daylight. On at 10:30 am, and start to ramp down at 9:30 pm. I stopped using the red and green.

Still decent growth so far, but maybe I'm used to fresh still and corals grow much slower. We've got a TON of growth from our softies, and jedi Monti.
