I was supposed to be sent 2 of the 95w 2 months ago now. Come to find out the person in charge of sending them left the company suddenly without informing me. So no 95w for me now

Current coming through quite a bit for me and will likely be sending them now. Really can't wait to try these 95w out assuming everything works out.

I'm thinking about adding them in the middle and turning them down some, and keeping all 4 other 52w on the tank to help with some of the dark spots the braces create.

I've turned all the channels on my 52w up, and I'm noticing better color and growth already. I think I had the light levels turned down too much lately causing some issues. Much better now!

So I just received my order for the Orbit R24 95w but I'm still about a month away from starting my tank as i still need to finish off the tank stand then plumb the whole thing. Just getting back into the hobby after a 7 year hiatus! Can't wait!

Our 2 95w units will, be in tomorrow or Wednesday.

I'm gonna try adding these in the center of our 125 in addition to our 4 52w ones. Will probably have to turn them down, but should give much more light coverage with the black bars showing shadows pretty bad currently.

I just got 2 95w Current R24's on my 75 gallon reef I am setting up.

I currently have softies and some LPS in a 55g sitting next to the new tank. That set up has 2 Viparspectra 165w black box LED's (They have been great for the past 3 years)

I looked into the currents as I wanted more control over the spectrum of light, and of course something more powerful. Some quick PAR testing showed me that the black boxes lack the power for more light demanding corals. The R24's produced around 400-500 at the surface with the Blues at 50%, Whites at 20%, Red at 20%, and Green at 5%. The lights are mounted about 6" from the top of the tank and this produces an average PAR of 75-100 at the bottom of the tank. Mind you this tank is empty I imagine the acrylic lids and water will reduce these figures slightly.

Got my 2 new 95w R24s today. Very impressed with their box on these, but they forgot to include my mounts and arms, so more waiting to add these to my 52w lights

Looking forward to what you have to say about them. I am considering them for my 210G 72". I have dual Orbit Marine IC on currently. Looking to add more power for SPS.

The 52w and 95w both would be much better than those IC orbits. The 52s have been great so far. I can only imagine the 95s provide even more growth!

100% whites and blues for daylight. 20% reds and 10% greens.

20% blues, 5% whites, everything else 0 for sunrise and sunset.

Gonna have to bring those down for the 95s I'm sure
I am thinking like 50 Blue, maybe 25-30 White, for daylight. What do you think?

That was a little low for my corals but definitely can try
Trouble is I am reading almost 250 par halfway up.

I am getting ready to fill and move stuff over so I'll be interested to see how much the water decreases the PAR.

Water won't t decrease par much if any.

As a matter of fact glass reflections and refraction can increase par locally.

You do want most of the photons entering the tank though so height and spread needs to be accounted for.

How much different do they look from the 52s? Same dimensions? The layout looks the same. I wonder if it's just a different power brick since according to their site it's the same led chips.

Finally got my 2 95w hooked up. They are MUCH brighter than the 52s.

I didn't realize it as they sent these to me for free, but I have to have a separate Bluetooth adapter to run them. My 52s stay at 100% on daylight for blues and whites I think that will be way too much with the 95s.

I temporarily put them all on 50%. It made the tank brighter with the 2 new lights, and you can't tell there's a black bar in the tank hardly now, which I love.

I wonder how this is gonna affect the corals now. We'll see!

I will say also. Current has SO many freaking cables to run their stuff. It is nothing but a tangled mess under our tank because of do many different cables. I think so far that's my only gripe.
