Morning All

Have most of this documented on my Build thread, but figured it may be helpful to have a seperate thread documenting this progress also!
Decided a few months ago to upgrade my small cube which I set up plumbed into my main display as a Frag System - pics below.
This frag tank was set up in March 2025

Up till now its been great, but its full...and have no space for anymore SPS in it.

So decided to design a new custom made tank to take up this entire space.

Including custom CNC cut overflow cover -

Below is the 3d of this tank

And a custom frag rack!

And finally a 3d Render to show what this should look like finished. (with no lights above!)

And so...the glass order was placed.

Update from November 14th

Glass arrived and was un-loaded, also picked up the custom overflow cover.

Decided to order myself a battery operated caulking gun.
Silicone was also ordered from the LFS - going to injection method this (its the first time I have attempted building a tank, but I am well comfortable with using and cleaning up silicone).

New hardware arrived to get this all done - also bought all my plumbing fittings i would need.

Cleaned all the glass and edges with Acetone, and taped it all up in position (found out my glazier messed up a couple of pieces, but made it work anyway).

Next day I glued in the overflow cover also

Then left to sit for a week for the silicone to fully cure - they recommend online 1 day per mm of glass, this was done with 12mm, so technically a week and a half i left this.

For those wondering, I did the front panel in low ion glass, and the rest just as standard as most will be blacked out or not viewed though. All edges are polished, and the angles are actually mitred also.

After leaving for silicone to cure, I did a partial water test (couldnt help myself)

Then installed all the bulkheads and plumbing this weekend just gone, and its now sitting with a full water test happening (this is also meant to help absorb any acids from the silicone).

Also blacked out the back panels with vinyl.

Looking great !!! I like the way you build the tank to match the cabinet space beside the other tank.
Thanks!
Its a tricky spot with the angled wall, but this should work well and give me room for around 300 frags.

Install is planned for this weekend.

06.12.25 Was the day, had a window of about 4 hours to get this all done which was tight but doable if there was no disasters.

Disconnected and removed the old tank - siphoned out the water into a holding tub which i moved all the racks into also.

Had to drill 5 new holes into the Stone Benchtop which was easily the worst job of the day, although I had a diamond drill for it which made short work of it.

My lad then helped me lift the tank in place on a new rubber support matt.

Then after connecting the main and siphon drain, my daughter helped me pump a new 100L of water into it (I had prepared the water the night before)
2025-12-06 12.51.52.jpg 2025-12-06 12.51.57.jpg

Pumped the rest of the water from the holding container, and connected the old lights back on temporarily - I have some new lights coming, but they are still a week or so away.

Hopefully the parts for the custom frag rack are also not too far away.

Amazing build, I wish I had your confidence and skill. I think I’ll stick around to watch your build.
Thank you!
The black background on the frag tank is making me want to scrape the back of my main display finally! 😆

New light arrived, decided the Frag tank would be a good way to test out one of the A8 lights.
Rigged up a custom Aluminium bracket and fitted this off this afternoon.

Just needs the custom rack, and it will be all complete.

Wow beautiful systems, I’m blown away! Sorry the food post was for the Smorgasbord thread, I’m an idiot.
