Hi all,

I’m new to this world so any advice (in novice language) would help! ;)

About a week and a half ago I added 9 frags to my fluval evo 13.5. Some have done well, some were doing well and now are not, and some never seemed to perk up.

Attached are pics of some of the problem ones.

Pic 1 & 2: a frag that was doing really well and now seems to be almost eaten or run over by my new Astrea snails. Not sure if this is normal?

Pic 3 (to the left of the hermit crab shell): a coral that when open would wave its arms but now has been closed up for about 4-5 days and now looks almost withered. Sorry for the bad quality pic.

I don’t know what types of corals they are because I bought them as part of a “starter pack” from Vivid Aquariums. But please ask any questions and I’ll try to answer them.

I love this hobby so far and just want to get some good corals going!

Probably gonna want to post your #s along with the age of the tank, rock used and fish list if any. That'll get the ball rolling.

First thing I'd look at are the tank parameters. The snails won't bother the corals .

Frags not drags…. ‍♂️
nope those are drags. ;)

from the pictures it looks like new tank and Marco rocks, did you cure the rocks is this a really new system? I'd try to get a few rubble pieces of live rock from someone to Jumpstart the biome.

in this new system make sure you have available food, preferably coral food along with feeding the fish.

also like mentioned a few parameters listed and how you regulate temperature and salinity. two important parameters to keep in control along with a good lighting schedule.

you may just need time.

good luck
