Hi all,

My name is Yme, from The Netherlands and I am setting up a new fresh!water tank. I know, a bit weird then to register to this forum.
The point is that you saltwater people have so much more knowlegde on sumps, fleece filters, bean animal overflows, siphon breaks and all that technical stuff that I am not so familiar with.

So I really hope that you could advise me on the best technical design of my new freshwater tank!

To show you what I more or less aim to achieve: this was my previous tank that I had to tear down because we moved to our current house. (So that why it is time for a new aquarium!)

thank you all!

Welcome to Reef2Reef!!! Several of us run freshwater tanks along with our reefs and saltwater setups and I think you will find a lot of knowledge here. Do you have specific plumbing or design questions?

Hi Yme and Welcome!

Many people here have both freshwater and saltwater tanks. That is a GORGEOUS tank and look forward to your new aquarium setup photos. Glad you joined!

wow! This is an active forum!
Thank you all for welcoming :-)

I indeed do have specific questions and already made some powerpoint slides describing them (and that is as far my skills goes....)
I will open later this evening a new topic in the "General Equipment, Hardware, Filtration" section. I think that is most appropriate for quetsion on sump design.

I already learned a lot! In the past, I was just a simple canister filter guy, so a sump is completely new :-)

thanks again!
