Hi Everyone,
My name is Doug and I have been in the reef keeping hobby since January of 1998 and keeping aquariums since 1970.
Over the years, I have had about 15 different aquariums but finally settled down with just two around 2006. I currently have a 90 gallon reef tank with some of the original fish and a coral that I bought back in 1998 and a 75 gallon supposed to be frag tank that is extremely good at growing algae.
Although my tanks are nothing like they were in years gone past, because I lost interest in them a few years ago, I have a renewed interest again and am hoping to try to bring them closer to how they looked before. I am currently battling cyano and aiptasia but I have beaten them in the past and know that I can beat them again.
I have done some things right but many more things wrong (like no water changes for over a year at one time & not cleaning my skimmer for 3 months) over the years and hope that I can share what I have learned and also learn from all of you.
Although I haven't been active on the reef keeping forums since 2007, I really like what I see here and look forward to talking reefs with all of you.
