Hello everyone I have lurked this forum for years.

I’ve had a ton of fresh water aquariums. One of my uncles owned a fish store with a big focus on Koi’s so I’ve been around fishes my entire life.

I’ve contemplated having a saltwater tank for a while but I’ve never done so until about a year and a half ago. I used this forums along with a few others to get up to speed on a lot of things while doing research. I’m currently starting to add corals and improve my tank//aquascaping as I do so.

My setup:
AI Prime 16HD light, wall mounted 14” over the tank

I have a 17G nano reef (aquamaxx) with a drilled overflow box into a 10g custom sump with a eshoppes s120 skimmer at an 8” depth, a small refuge 6” depth with chaeto, and a basic led clip on light on a timer and a return pump.

In the tank:

Fish
2 black oscellaris clownfish
1 tail spot blenny

cleanup crew:
3 trocheus snails
2 cerith snails
2 scarlet leg crabs

corals
1. Bubble tip anemone
1. Aussie Gold Hammer

My end goal:
- Clean up wiring and put a black background on the tank.
- Get a smaller heater that I can stash in my refuge
- add another wave maker
- add ATO setup
- add a coral or two monthly until I’m satisfied or get a bigger tank

edit: photo tax included, sorry the tank is ramping down so not the best shot!

Welcome to Reef2Reef! It's crazy how many new people on these forums are starting with nano tanks. I love my little 5 gallon AIO, but they can definitely be a challenge!
