New LFS in Birmingham area(reef only)

All reef no fish. It's a branch off aquarium fantasies in Montgomery which is the largest saltwater store in the state. The store is located in the homewood area and has the not so everyday corals. It's opening up Monday offering mainly only large show tank pieces that have been grown by the owner in the Montgomery store for the past 10 years. ranging from chalice Frags and sps Frags all the way up to massive rainbow colored open brains. A maze brain larger than a softball, chalices 7 to 12 inches in diameter, and medium to large sps colonies. Also stocking war corals, orange and pink plates, etc . Too many to list. Your guarenteed to see something that you have never seen offered for sale before at these sizes. Prices range from $25 for Frags to $200 for some of the larger show pieces and everything in between.

Also has the cheapest dry goods in the state!!!!!

Will be open starting monday the 11th of October.

Just got back from the new shop, very good selection of coral. Picked up some salt mix, very reasonable price. The only thing is the shop was hard to find. They don't have a big sign, it's in the building across the street from Homewood Antiques. There is a florist sign over the shop but has their sign in the windows.I think this will be a good shop for us here in Birmingham. I hope they can make enough to keep it open.

You would think so, but if participation in the club is any indication, it will be hard for any shop to make it without a thriving maintenance business. I hope they can keep the shop open. The only complaint that I have with them is the difficulty in finding it. I actually drove past it three or four times before I happened to notice the signs in the windows. There is a florist sign above the storefront. Very misleading.

I have been to the store in Mont. and was very impressed. Hopefully this one can be half as good.
