Hello & Welcome to R2R!

Hi! I'm new here to R2R. I live in Ohio and have had a FO salt tank since about 2007. I'm in the early stages of down sizing from a 45g bow front to a 35g cube and really want to do this with as much good info as possible. My 45g is still running and I currently have my original live rock, some hermits and snails. The health of my tank has never really been an issue. Bad advice and a couple gut-wrenching casulaties early on, made me stick with very few fish. I was only confident enough to add crabs and snails. I wish I had more sources for info back then. One of my original clowns lived 17 years and my Flame hawk (my last fish) lived in my tank nearly 12 years. I look forward to sharing and learning on how to properly restock my new tank and hopefully venture in to some corals down the road. Thanks!!

I thought I was seeing things? You two know each other?

Welcome to Reef2Reef! This is a great place to learn how to reef with impunity!

Sending a Hello as another new member from Ohio. Good luck with your new system. I'm sticking with a modest sized 24g nano tank for now. I had a beautiful tank once before in a smaller cube system, so looking forward to making this happen again {fingers crossed}.

Hello PaulaB and Welcome to R2R! I would think that downsizing would be easy for you as you already have the beneficial bacteria. Take out you're sand for the bottom and you're favorite rocks or ones that would make a nice cave or hiding areas for some of the fish. Good luck and I'm sure you'll be fine.
