Get your rock in a bucket of saltwater, some flow, a bottle of whatever bacteria bottle you want and get those rocks cycling.
Now you have a ton of time to get your glass set up.

As far as tips/suggestions, it's cliché to say but take things slowly. Nothing good happens fast in a reef tank. Other than the thread recommend above, BRStv has a great series called 52 weeks of reefing which does a pretty comprehensive introduction to the hobby. I highly recommend watching that series to give yourself a solid foundation.

Welcome to R2R! Reading a guide like the one @Kennya recommended is a good start. Also once you get an idea of a tank you like look in the Member Tanks sections for build threads of the same or similar set ups. It can help a lot.
