New Orphek LED bars

I remember when the first Orphek LED bars came out everyone was raving about the violet/UV bars for ‘coral pop’
I no longer see the Violet/UV bar on their new OR2 range, only the reef blue plus and reef day plus

Is there a reason the violet ones were discontinued. My AI hydras provide plenty PAR for my LPS/softie reef but I really want that coral pop!

Discontinued? Looks more like an addition..
disappointing thing.. Still no dimmable driver..

Asked about dimmable drivers by email. Got a reply suggesting that a Bluetooth dimming add-on would be available in a couple of months.

Why Bluetooth? Why not an add-on to their WiFi gateway product? I love these LEDs but the business decisions don't seem to make sense to me.

Fully agree. The fact they could've added a potentiometer dimming driver to their setup suggests they haven't really listened to the customer base. Especially given that the driver is external. Doesn't make sense. That was my main point of contacting Orphek. To see if they'd supply without the driver and I could add a dimmable one instead. No luck

Well, you can replace one yourself but of course an extra cost to you..
They do use a sort of off the norm driver so it's (or was) not soo easy to get a perfect match but doable..

Think we are going on the second year of the "coming soon" dimmable driver. :(

Can't see how an "add on" would allow you to use the same driver though either.

Light pop on the reef blue plus puts my Radions and Primes to shame. It's so much more pop you just can't even begin to compare the two. I wont say anything about growth rates as I have not had Orpheks long enough to compare. The Radion G4 pros have been solid for me and I have a nice jam packed SPS tank due to them so I am still thankful!
