New Osmolator update

Yes, but please be sure the fitting you have is BSP and not NPT, BSP (British Standard Pipe) is the European standard, NPT (National Pipe Thread) is the US standard and if you try to thread in NPT, it is very likely the pump housing will crack and it won't seal. BSP is generally difficult to source in the US, it is definitely available but will require some searching online, it won't be readily available at a hardware store like NPT.

Thank you so much! Mine is NPT so I'm glad I haven't tried to hook that up yet. Very much appreciated!

Functionally it will be no different than the Osmolator 3, it just adds WIFI and this will enable set up on Tunze-hub.de and being able to receive notifications. It is likely to launch in March/April. It will really be nearly the same unit in all other respects.
Just checking in now that's its coming up on June. Any news on a launch date for the Pro/Wifi version?

Unfortunately it is looking like at best we will see an Aug/Sept release in EU and an Oct/Nov release in the US. WIFI products, especially for the US require extensive compliance testing and since it is very expensive, everything is checked before we even submit and all of this takes a lot of time, if it emits too much in a certain frequency everything has to be reworked and done again.

@rvitko my trash reef factory ato just broke. How long before Pro/WiFi version is released in Europe?

It's been forever!

It is still in testing, Felix has a prototype running on his personal tank, we are working on some feature additions (reservoir level monitoring, calibration for cable extensions, etc) and these features need a lot more testing. Likely it will be ready around Summer 2026.

Now that's it's been a year since the last update, I'm just checking in for an update to see if this is any closer to being released to the general public.

I would need to check, I know that this has been one of those projects that new ideas keep getting added to, I will check in with the factory in the next few days.

This product will still happen but as you may have seen, we have had issues with safety sensor failures on the 3154. This was a few months set back to solve this once and for all, we went down many rabbit holes of what could be the cause only to see we only improved a little but it could still happen. It required really digging in on plastic and adhesive chemistry and molding processes and this is solved now, the updated product will come soon and we will have this new version as a replacement for future failures. We will eventually get the pro version done but Tunze is just a few engineers in a very small family company and the bandwidth is limited, I have no definitive date, but the basic hardware is now solid and exists and it will largely be a matter of the app integration and final decisions on what features are needed and which ones are not worthwhile.
