New Psuedo "Ford" Toy - DBS

Just spring for the Ford GT ;)

Almost as difficult as getting a Trident...

The problem with the Ford GT isn't if you get your application accepted or if you can afford it but rather the decision if you want to drive it or horde it for a later resell. The GT's will surely be reselling well over 1.2 million with low to little mileage. Me personally would track it. Shelby's comments always come to mind. The car was designed and built to be driven not collected :) I've always tracked mine with my wife's only request is that I can walk away from it both physically and financially. Which means I'm adding track insurance during those weekends and it adds cost to that hobby.

Edit: I do not own a Ford GT - I didn't clarify that. I owned a 2015 Mustang GT / PP that I tracked regularly. I was originally going for a GT350R but the ADM's at the time was something I couldn't do...

I absolutely love Mustangs. As long as you aren't a crowd full of people, they're tough to beat. OK that was a horrible joke, I hope no one was seriously hurt in the accidents. Aesthetically I find the mustang nearly as appealing as many of the Astons. For the money, that's tough to beat. The new generations are great not just in a straight line but around a track. An impressive piece of machinery! Shelby is just unmatched.

I really like the Roush stage 3 also, except for the graphics, those would have to go. No "stickers" on my cars, anywhere.

Thanks sir, that's a sweet ride! Good AC was a requirement for me back int he day when I "flipped" old trucks. If the AC wasn't functioning, I didn't care how great the drivetrain was. Working AC made them SO much easier to sell, and drive while I waited to sell. Was also difficult to diagnose/fix in many cases.

Nice car! I take care of a DB9 Volante for a customer, fun ride. Contact me when it's time for an oil change and I'll save you about two hours and a whole lot of aggravation with a little trick. Keep some Techron brand injector cleaner in the fuel every so often as they are notorious for injector problems. Also coil pack issues but I'll not bring up that nightmare on a family forum. :)

Stereo and A/C is my requirements, the A/C blows very cold but I have to rebuild the compressor clutch. It is starting to get tough to get parts for the truck. I really like this truck though:D:D

Never happen. I have an entire row at my shop dedicated to dead Ford's... My Chevy's run like a top! Dodges too! Well Cummins under the hood. Not a single dead one out in the lot.

Yup! Lots of Volvo and Jag (also Ford in same era)— When they owned Rover they used a lot of them for the explorers and still use a lot of the tech today. I call my newer explorer sport my “Poor Man’s Rover”



Yes I am holding out for an AWD version. I love Shelby. Like you, no way I’m paying the demand markup for them, and I think we are a couple of years away from the AWD version. Can you imagine 760 and AWD? Oh man...

Now I am a huge Volvo fan, and have a big argument about why Ford partially invested in Volvo and then what they did to the brand lol. But I am Euro trash and all we have is Euro cars now and a gmc truck. Love my M3 and think I will stick with them forever now that the rod bearing spinning v8 is gone and the revamped N54 motor is in them.

Thanks! I wanted something fast, gorgeous, comfortable, and luxurious — less flashy and “look at me”. Not that Aston’s don’t turn heads but unless you’re a car person or hear it, it just looks like a beautiful convertible. Something elegant about AM. I like Lambo and Ferrari and most are faster, but I wanted the mix and I am quite happy with the purchase! Also many Ferrari are out of my price range unless older with a lot of miles.

Yeah, not the best years for Volvo. Aston thrived, Rover improved, Jag improved. All have benefited from Ford selling them off it seems, however.
