Hi all... I got the rodi buddie and hooked it up to the toilet supply line with this:

A couple questions:
  • it seems there is some air in the RO unit (did not hook up DI yet), do I need to worry about purging all the air from the carbon/sediment/RO(and DI) filters?

  • Where are the most important points to add check valves?
    Supply line?
    Exit line?

  • Where should I add a shut off, the filtered outlet side? There already is one at the toilet supply point...

  • Is it bad to leave the unit "hooked up" (via the shut off valve) to the house's water supply? And just turn off the "filtered outlet" side instead of turning off the supply side...

  • Basically, what's the best practice for "turning off and on" the RODI unit?

Thanks!! ;Lurking

Don’t know specifics of the ‘buddy’ but rodi units typically have a check valve after membrane, before di resin.
They also typically have hi/low shut off that shuts the waste water off when you turn off valve of product water. If you don’t have hi/low valve, and your waste water keeps coming out after a few minutes of turning off product line valve, then you need to turn off the water at the toilet attachment.
You should rinse sediment and carbon filters. You can do this by disconnecting the water line going into membrane and let it run for a few minutes

awesome, thanks then I will put it between the RO and DI

and looking at getting a hi/low shut off valve and product-water shut off to make it easier later
