SO I was hoping for help identifying this. It looks like a 'snotty' goo over the rocks. Brushes off but comes back pretty quickly. Tank is 6 months old, I feed pretty sparingly. This showed up about a month in - is it 'new tank' or something else? Thanks, I can probably post a micrograph if needed.

Looks like bacterial growth, could be algae as well. What cleanup crew you have ?

Basically the 50gal cube package from reef cleaners. Ceriths, nassarius, nerites. And a couple hermit crabs.

cerith or trochus should do the job. Do you have enough flow there ? Your tank is too new, I’ll not be too worried and blast it with turkey baster during water change

Increase phos and Nitrate. I bet they are at zero. This is how I started with a fresh build and my params were out of wack. There was an imbalance and weird stuff like this started to outcompete the more normal stuff. Turned into a long battle with chrysophytes.
