I used Biospira on my 90 gallon and loved it...I used 2 bottles that were rated for a total of 50 gallons...so it was pretty close to the recommended dose. My tank was fully cycled within 3 days.

I got back from the fish store, they said to double the dose of the bacteria in a bottle and use it everyday to get it cycling and do a water change every 4 days but he said that I didn't need to do one today. Does this sound okay ???
Ammonia burns the fishes gills, do a water change if you are getting an ammonia reading. You are going to need to keep making water to do changes probably daily until the tank cycles.

What salt are you using? I use Red Sea and can have it mixed and ready to use within an hour, some salts take longer I guess buut something to consider. If you don't want to get a pump to mix, just get a new plastic kitchen spoon or spatula and use that to mix, it's what I did on my smaller batches of salt.

I forgot to say; I also bought a small pump so I'll be bad to use it to mix the salt, has anyone had any experience with Seachum Stability ?

Are you sure it's safe to do a water change ?

Also, the salt I'm using is coral life

I have used stability, it's a fine additive for helping the tank cycle.

Assuming you are mixing the salt to the same salinity that is in the tank, and the water is about the same temperature as the tank. You can not hurt your fish by doing a water change. In fact, you are helping them. Until the bacteria is able to process the ammonia you have to keep it down, through dilution, so the ammonia does not kill them. Even low levels can cause damage.

I don't know anything about chloramine use in Australia, do you know if they use chloramine in the tap water?

Run a ammonia test on your fresh saltwater mix to make sure. Chloramine will release ammonia in the water when you use a dechlorinator, unless you use a dechlorinator that also binds ammonia.

I tested my saltwater mix and it's reading 0 Ammonia,

As for testing at the shop, I didn't end up doing it, he said to me that if it read ammonia before it's no point doing it, I still wanted to do it but he didn't see the point.....haha

But, I just tested my salt water then and surprisingly, it is showing a little better, not sure because I added some bio enhancers to try and get the filter going, but I'll show a picture: To me it looks almost perfect but maybe between 0 and .25, tell me what you think:

that happens on my freshwater fish...haven't noticed it on my saltwater fish though, although I'd expect that it can happen just the same and would be normal

Just things to expect in a normal cycle. You are short circuiting that with the additive bacteria, so what you experience will be different. Understanding how it works though will help you better understand what you are looking at and for with your test results :)
