Just picked up a 150 gallon. It was housing turtles. So I have some questions. First do I need to do anything specific to clean it? Planned to do a full water test and vinegar clean out.

second is that it is drilled already. Large 2” bulk heads on each end and a smaller 1” I think in the center. There are no overflows on the inside or out. So do I run the 2”one the ends as drains with a center return or a center And 2 - 2” returns?

will get pics later on.

The cleaning strategy is good to go.

The holes on the other hand, I'll have to let other experts chime in.

Here’s some photos. Anyone know a tank manufacturer? It’s beefy has strips of glass around top and bottom and internal bracing. Also should I replace the cracked bracing that I took a picture of? It’s just the outside brace piece and doesn’t affect the main panels. Any ideas for plumbing? You can see the 2 end bulk heads with orange they are the large ones and one smaller in the center

Is that last picture a crack in the bottom pane corner? 150 g is a lot of water to wash the floor with.

As for the holes, many options. You can make your own overflow boxes, in addition to all the stuff on the market like ghost overflow, etc or there are these overflow type finger looking things.

The cracks are not on the main glass pane. There is a second piece of glass that is trimmed around the whole bottom and top. It’s just on the bracing.
Does it make sense to go with 2 overflows on each end for the larger bulk heads and return in the middle?

I would keep the bigger ones on the sides as drains and the smaller center as a return. On the return just use something like a locline Y inside the tank.
