i just wanted to introduce myself and say hello to everyone here. its amazing how many people i have seen on here from manhattan reefs and nano reefs lol.
my name is rick and i'm addicted to saltwater hahahaha. i have been in the hobby for several years. i started out with a fowlr tank in my first house and then got out but always have the love still there. Then i got the itch again but now it was different you can have corals really what i thought i knew went right out the window. i did tons of research and then more.
so then i joined MR and trolled looking for a tank and the addiction started.
my first tank was a JBJ nanocube HQI boy was i excited. i got the whole setup for 500 just had to transport from queens to ardsley. well 18 hrs later no sleep and a nervous wreck it all panned out. i had what i thought was a thriving reef till i started looking at corals and said to myself your tank looks like crap lol. back to research what can i grow in here. basically everything and i did. after all the mods and growth and not knowing how to frag i needed a bigger tank.
so back to reading and looking at equipment tanks getting all confused. then nailed it down 40BR, T5 , big skimmer, lots of flow. so there it began
40BR
tek T5 6bulb
DIY Beckett skimmer
MP20
3 different sumps later
then came 2 yes 2 crashes back to back one from substrate and the next from a **** fan that took out all my corals. it was tough to stay in but i did and am glad i did its been about 8 months now and its all on its way.
New equipment
same breeder
bubble magus wide neck
mp40
huge refugium
same light
well thats all for now and glad to be on this site.
