New to reefing came from High Tech Planted tanks

I was a planted tank guy for many years (even had a few articles published ….. anyone remember FAMA?). Personally, I DO find reefs easier than plants …. particularly crypts (talk about RTN). Just need to get into the swing of things. Here's an old picture, circa 1990 ….

hang on to the CO2 for dosing. Welcome to the R2R community.
i am, but i prefer to skip CO2 dosing at all costs........45min drive to and then another 45min drive to the nearest welding shop is not fun.

Hello my name is Lowell and I am a fishaholic! That includes fresh and saltwater right down to the inverts! You are among friends and fellow aquarium fans.

Black beard algae was a pox ....
yes it was.....ended up making me quit planted after battling it off and on for a few years.
Lost some beautiful red amazon swords to it.......still have some of the fish from my planted. they moved into a 55gal that became my wife's tank.
Some easy to grow plants might secretly replace some of her "decorations"
That Cory Catfish in the middle of the tank I have had longer than I have known my wife (he has got to be pushing 6 or 7 years old at this point) It will be a sad day when he goes :(
