Hello All.... I had a 55 gal freshwater showtank as a teenager-- and here I am 30+ years later taking on the saltwater tank world-- what took me so long!! I'm only 3 months into the hobby, but WOW-- it captures my thoughts, time, and attention EVERY day! So much to learn, and so intriging... I am so grateful for sites and people like this/you that help folks like me with your experience and knowledge-- thank you for sharing!

I hope to do the same at some point.... In the mean time, I plan to continue to plow time and $$ learning, building, making mistakes, and bottom line-- ENJOYING this awesome new hobby!

Thanks Orko.... not quite ready for corals yet-- but hopefully someday soon. I added the fuge a week or so ago to help get the nitrates and phosphates down (I have some Kents Phosphate Sponge in the fuge right now...), but Ammonia & Nitrites remain at 0 (or convert within 24 hours if ammonia spikes with water change or something), and calcium & PH looks good. Just still working to contol those Nitrates before adding corals... Even with a 50% water change, I cant seem to get below 20ppm--- hopefully the fuge with caulerpa and chaeto helps to bring it down. I have a little caulerpa in there now-- chaeto arrives on Wednesday. Fingers crossed!
