New to reefing

Hello folks, My name is David and I’m new to the reefing. I’ve had aquariums in the past but they were all freshwater with African Cichlids.
Last October I drilled out my tank and installed the overflow and returns. So far I’ve been on my own and everything I know came from you tube university.
I’m here because I need a support.
Recently I’ve come down with an algae problem and I can’t seem to eliminate it.
My fish and coral seem to be unaffected but the tank looks bad.
I’m open to suggestions and would appreciate some coaching.

Are you able to post a picture and provide some basic tank information such as size, PH, phosphates, nitrate, calcium, temp., mag levels. Also list your type of lighting and schedule may be helpful so we can better help you.
