Newbie help with a cap frag

So I just picked up this cap frag after I saw a bigger version of it filling a frag tank and fell in love. My question is, how do I place it so that it starts to form that upward and outward growth of plating?

It will just grow that way. I would put it relatively low in the tank so you can look down at its growth pattern. Looks like you have some nice coralline growing there!

Should I keep it on the plug and leave it to grow or should I glue it to the live rock? Also, is it better to set them laying flat or should I have it leaned at an angle the way it's show in the picture?
