Light spill is my only complaint with these lights, and is the reason why I built a canopy for my display tank. That stated, light spill is going to be an issue with pretty much any light source over an open topped tank.Has anyone found a light shade for these? Just tried one out on my new IM and there is a decent amount of spill from the 50w model.
I'd go 3 150w that's just me. I had two 150's and a 50w over a 4ft 120, and par at the sand was kinda meh.Looks like this will be my new light. For a 6 foot 125 gallon with LPS and a few sps, would you get 2 150w or 3 100w, or 3 150w? Not sure which combo I should try.
Thank you!
How many braces?Looks like this will be my new light. For a 6 foot 125 gallon with LPS and a few sps, would you get 2 150w or 3 100w, or 3 150w? Not sure which combo I should try.

I was thinking 3. It's 2 braces. 72" long. 21" deepHow many braces?
2 braces best to use 3 lights.
Basically 3 tanks..
How wide? How deep? Too lazy to look if you posted this already.
72" x 18" x 21"I was thinking 3. It's 2 braces. 72" long. 21" deep

Ok for some reason Nicrew doesn't like the 150's over tanks narrower than 18".
To me it isn't " logical" since the light isn't wider only longer.
I'm not going to suggest any power levels since I'm not a " coral guy" just someone who dabbles in light in general.
That said I see no reason except $'s not to pick 3 150's over 3 100's.
Do you " need" 150s....??????
Difference in 3 is about $100..I honestly don't know if I need the 150s.... If the 100s would be fine, they would absolutely work and be cheaper.
We mostly have zoas, chalices, euphylia, and a few acro/birds nest/type sps.
Nothing wrong with that.. So you use 3 currents?I'm coming from the Current USA 52w R24 leds also. They're great lights, but I oddly enough really like Nicrew stuff
In that case, I would say three 100’s will do just fine.I honestly don't know if I need the 150s.... If the 100s would be fine, they would absolutely work and be cheaper.

Not to confuse you but you might want to consider Smatfarms.
More channels means more ways to adj. to what you like..
No phone app and may or may not include a remote. On light controls are available,I had really thought about these too. Gonna have to shave some off the mounts for the trim either one I get. They should really start making mounts more widely accepted of plastic trim tanks lol
The not having to buy a separate controller is appealing on the Smatfarms. They're cheaper too for 3x 95w ones VS the Nicrew. No phone app and may or may not include a remote. On light controls are available,
Programming isn't straight forward apparently.
Why Chinese programmers aren't better at this by now baffles me.
